Returns and exchanges before shipping

Wrong size or a flaw in QC? How returns and exchanges work while items are still in China.

QC4 min readUpdated Oct 2026

When you can return

While your item is still in the agent's warehouse in China, you can usually return it to the seller or exchange it, for example for a different size. Once it has been packed into an international parcel, that's normally no longer possible.

How to request it

  1. Open the orderFind the item in your warehouse or order list.
  2. Choose return or exchangePick the reason: wrong size, wrong item, defect or changed mind.
  3. Explain clearlyPoint to the photo that shows the problem, for example "stain on the left sleeve, photo 3".
  4. Wait for the sellerThe agent contacts the seller. Most replies come in 1 to 3 days.

What it costs

  • Seller's mistake (wrong item, defect): usually free. The seller covers return shipping.
  • Your choice (wrong size picked, changed mind): you usually pay domestic return shipping, around ¥10 to ¥20, and some sellers don't accept it at all.

Refunds go back to your agent balance or original payment method once the seller confirms receipt.

Exchanges

An exchange is a return plus a new order from the same seller, often for a different size. It takes longer, usually 5 to 10 days, because the item travels back to the seller and a new one comes out. Plan it if you're waiting to ship a whole haul.

When it isn't possible

  • The return window has passed (often about 5 to 7 days after arrival).
  • The seller doesn't accept returns on that item, which is common for sale or custom items.
  • The item has already been shipped internationally.
TipIf a return isn't possible, ask the agent whether the seller will offer a partial refund for a small flaw. Many do.
